Winter Vacation Planning~

YAY~

It's time for my winter vacation planning to commence and I can't even begin to properly express the level of excitement I am going though. I have 3 weeks to do ANYTHING I want to and I have money to back it up. (Yay for saving~~) I haven't finalized my plans but I have my eyes set on Malaysia, and Japan.

Now if I go home to the US for those three weeks then I'll be coming back to So. Korea finishing the last two weeks of my contract and potentially moving to Japan! But I'll certainly be visiting Malaysia before I commit myself to too much. =)

My last pay check I expect to receive two weeks after my last day of work so I would like to stay close to So. Korea at least to make sure all of my money is handled properly before I head off and moves elsewhere. Yay for this blog being put back to it's initial purpose of sharing my travels, and yay for the future. ^_^

Missing Home

My time here in Korea has been the first time in my life that I have ever missed home. I've been homesick for the majority of my time here and throughout it all I've been able to persevere and stay here non-the-less. I'm grateful for FaceBook and Skype, and MagicJack too. More grateful than I'm sure I would be otherwise.

Although I don't enjoy this feeling I think having experienced it has served as a definite supplement to my development as a young adult.

The Daily Encouragement for today is

It is important to have a sufficiently elevated life-condition so that you will be able to calmly accept whatever happens in life, striving to put problems into proper perspective and solving them with a positive attitude. Happiness blossoms forth from such a strong and all-encompassing life-condition.

Now I need to apply this.

How Many Books Can I Read and Review

So I have previously toyed with the idea of reviewing books I have read online as a way to encourage myself to read more.

I happened to mention to my friend A.J. that I was thinking of making this blog into one about reviewing books (don't worry I won't!!) And now the next day (because it is technically 12:40am) I have accidentally discovered that through iTunes I can "purchase" free books!! I downloaded SEVERAL classics (but none were from authors of color -_-) and will be devouring them one by one in due time.

How did all of this come about you ask? Well, I was on the iTunes store trying to find a free app for the game Othello aka Reversi and when I typed in Othello a FREE book came up, and started to investigate and realized said free book was being offered via iBooks.Of course I downloaded the free iBooks app and then downloaded loads of books. ^_^ YAY

FYI Today I went to Gwangju with one friend, met up with another friend and had a great time viewing an art exhibition a gallery in Gwangju was hosting.

Cute Children in Class

Yesterday in class one of my students came in with her little brother. Now she alone is cute but with her brother and their matching shirts I just though "ahhh too cute!" I couldn't remember where I left my camera but I took two shots with my cell.

Just imagine it, a second grader totally cute in her own right comes into to your summer camp class with her kindergarten aged and might I add well-behaved younger brother. You'll probably be ooing and awing over them too! Almost made me want kids--almost!!
